Father in Heaven,
Thank you I can come before you knowing you delight to hear my prayers. I praise you the one true God – who made all things and graciously sustains them each day. Thank you for your generous provision for me each day
Father, thank you for your mercy to me in the Lord Jesus. I’m sorry I so often don’t honour and obey you as I should, but seek control and glory for myself. Please forgive me. Thank you for forgiveness you have poured out on me in the death of your Son. Please keep changing me to be like him. Keep growing my love for Jesus that I’d delight in obeying him more and more.
Thank you for the privilege of serving your people; of walking alongside them, pointing them to Jesus and equipping them to serve. Please will you sustain me in my service. Help me to serve you as a creature, made in your image – finding healthy patterns of work and rest, while depending on you in all things. Grow me in prayerfulness, joy and a longing to see people come to follow Jesus. Give me wisdom in planning and decision making, and boldness in teaching your Word. Help me be willing to make changes for the sake of making Jesus known.
As I serve alongside others, help me to grow in my capacity to love them well. Help me to be patient and kind. Teach me to encourage and spur on the co-workers in the gospel you’ve given me. Help me deal with conflict wisely.
Father I praise you for your wisdom and mercy, and ask that you’d answer these prayers in ways that are for my good and your glory.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
